How to choose between them
- Ask your hauler first. The IGBC list labels some entries semi-automated or fully automated. Your waste company decides which carts its trucks can lift.
- Compare certification numbers. Two carts of the same nominal size are different products with different numbers. Look yours up with our certification checker.
- Check your local rules. The IGBC states that it does not decide which products satisfy local regulations. See bear trash laws by state.
- Already own a large cart? A certified lock or an enclosure may be an option; see locks and covers.
Quick answers
Not as a certified product. Each maker labels its own size, and each model is certified separately under its own IGBC number. Compare the numbers, not just the gallons.
It depends on the truck. The IGBC list marks some Toter carts as semi-automated and one as fully automated. Ask your hauler which type of cart its trucks lift.
It is on the IGBC's list and on our product pages. You can confirm any number with the certification checker.
Our curated data includes a 197-gallon Tiger Companies receptacle. Dumpsters from 1.5 to 8 yards are also on the IGBC list; see our dumpsters page.
